ImANewUser Amazing Race 15 (also known as TAR Female Teams 3) is the upcoming 15th installment of the fictional series, ImANewUser Amazing Race.

Production

Development and Filming

During the season preview, it was revealed that the race will visit the countries of Nigeria and Samoa for the first time, and that the race will also visit Angola. Other previously unvisited countries include Antigua & Barbuda and Andorra.

Leg 3 of this season introduced the Head-To-Head, a challenge where teams faced off against each other in a series of matches in order to progress to the next challenge. Leg 6 introduced the Voting U-Turn, where teams vote on who they want U-Turned, and the team or teams with the most votes have to do both sides of the Detour. Leg 9 introduced the Voting Yield, a similar twist where teams voted on who they want Yielded.

Cast

Casting commenced during April 2019. Similar to Season 1 and Season 3, the cast for this season consists of all-female teams.

Note 1: Two teams (Christina & Terri, Sadie & Katie) improperly completed the Roadblock and as such, both teams were penalized at the Pit Stop. In addition, five teams (Linda & Tina, Monique & Shawne, Ramona & Sonja, Meredith & Cristina, Sadie & Katie) were also penalized for not walking to St. John's Cathedral, as the clue had specified. Three teams (Ramona & Sonja, Christina & Terri, Jessika & Jenny B) were also penalized for improperly completing the Detour. The initial placements for all teams are as follows (the five boldfaced teams were not given any penalties):

Note 2: Upon arrival in St. John's, Pencil & Match were held up at the airport. After being able to leave, they were instructed to go directly to the Pit Stop for elimination.
Note 3: Meredith, Missandei, Jenny B, Ramona and Laurita decided to forfeit the Roadblock and were issued a penalty on the spot.
Note 4: Sadie & Katie arrived third, but they were penalized at the Pit Stop for improperly completing the Detour. As a result, they dropped to fourth place.
Note 5: Daenerys decided to forfeit the Roadblock; they were issued a penalty on the spot.
Note 6: Sadie & Katie were held up in Luanda after the Head-To-Head. After being able to leave, they were instructed to go directly to the Pit Stop for elimination.
Note 7: Leg 4 was turned into a non-elimination leg due to unexpected production difficulties. As a result, Leg 5 became a double-elimination leg, and the last two teams to check in at the Pit Stop were both eliminated.
Note 8: Terri decided to forfeit the Roadblock; they were issued a penalty on the spot.
Note 9: Daenerys & Missandei struggled at the boju-boju task and fell way behind until after all the other teams had checked in at the Pit Stop. Phil called them over to the mat to inform them of their elimination.
Note 10: Four teams (Emma & Kate, Carly & Sam, Jessika & Jenny B, Monique & Shawne) were penalized for taking a taxi to Labadi Beach, instead of a bus as the clue had specified. The initial placements for all teams are as follows (the four boldfaced teams were not given any penalties):

Note 12: Carly & Sam decided to take a short rest stop in Andorra La Vella after the Detour. The best friends overslept, and when they woke up, they were instructed to go directly to the Pit Stop for elimination.
Note 13: Emma & Kate elected to use the Express Pass to bypass the Roadblock during Leg 8. Before using the Express Pass, Emma elected to perform the Roadblock, and this is reflected in the total Roadblock count.
Note 14: Cristina & Christina decided to forfeit the Roadblock; they were issued a penalty on the spot.
Note 15: Linda & Tina were not able to make the same flight to Kabul as the other teams and did not arrive until after all the other teams had checked in. After landing in Kabul, Phil met them at the airport to inform them of their elimination.
Note 16: Meredith & Cristina struggled at the Detour and fell way behind until after all the other teams had checked in at the Pit Stop. Phil met them at the National Herbarium Of Victoria to inform them of their elimination.
Note 17: All teams were penalized for exchanging at a location different than what was specified as a clue; as such, this did not affect their placements.
Note 18: Monique & Shawne struggled with the first task of the leg, were not able to make the same flight to Apia as the other teams, and did not arrive until after all the other teams had checked in. After landing in Apia, Phil met them at the airport to inform them of their elimination.

  • Red means the team was eliminated.
  • Blue means the team came in last at a non-elimination leg.
  • An underlined leg number indicates that there was no mandatory rest period at the Pit Stop and all teams were ordered to continue racing. The first place team was still awarded a prize for that leg.
  • Green means the team won the Fast Forward clue. A green ƒ means that the team won the Fast Forward clue, but finished last for the leg. A green leg number means no team took the Fast Forward for the leg.
  • A ε means the team used their Express Pass.
  • An underlined placing means that the team used the Salvage Pass that leg.
  • A > or > indicates that the team chose to use a Yield or one of the two Yields in a Double Yield while < or < indicates the team who received it. A <> or <> indicates an unused Yield, while a <> indicates an unused double Yield. Leg 12 featured a Blind Double Yield.

Titles for legs are often taken from quotes made by the racers. The quotes are sometimes slightly changed for humorous effect. Elimination Station

The first six eliminated teams were sequestered in Marrakech, Morocco. Subsequent eliminated teams continued to run the race as decoys.

  • After Leg 1, Pencil & Match were the first team to arrive at the villa. The woodsticks took the time to explore and take in their new surroundings.
  • After Leg 2, Pencil & Match waited for another team to arrive, but soon deduced it was a non-elimination leg.
  • Legs 3 and 4 were shown in a two-leg episode. Only one episode of Elimination Station was posted after the episode.
    • Sadie & Katie were the second team to arrive at Elimination Station. They waited for a third team to join them, but soon deduced it was a non-elimination leg.
  • After Leg 5, Daenerys & Missandei and Laurita & Carlotta were the third and fourth teams to arrive at the villa. Both Pencil & Match and Sadie & Katie were shocked to see two teams get eliminated, as the newly-arrived duos talked to the other teams about their respective troubles with the boju-boju task and the Bush Bar Roadblock in Abuja.
  • After Leg 6, the four eliminated teams waited for another team to arrive, but soon deduced it was a non-elimination leg.
  • After Leg 7, Carly & Sam were the fifth team to arrive at Elimination Station. They told the four other teams about their alarm clock not going off after a roadside rest stop in Andorra La Vella.
  • After Leg 8, Ramona & Sonja were the sixth team to arrive at Elimination Station. They told the five teams at the villa about their struggles to lead a group of tourists during the Roadblock.
  • After Leg 9, the six eliminated teams waited for another team to arrive, but soon deduced it was a non-elimination leg.
  • After Leg 10, the six teams at Elimination Station received a call from Linda & Tina, who told the teams back at the villa about them missing the flight to Kabul.
  • After Leg 11, the teams at Elimination Station received a call from Meredith & Cristina, who told the teams back at the villa about their struggles after getting U-Turned. The six teams at the villa then prepared to fly to the Final Destination City to meet with the other teams.
  • After Leg 12, the teams at Elimination Station flew to the Final Destination City. There, the six teams met up with the more-recently eliminated teams, including Monique & Shawne. The nine eliminated teams then speculated on who among the finalists would win the season.
  • After Leg 13, the eliminated teams met up with the Final Three, who shared their joys and disappointments throughout the race.

Pre-Legs

Before the official start of the Race, Season 15 ran a "pre-leg" as an opener.

Pre-Leg (Alaska, United States Of America)

Air Date: April 27, 2019

For the Detour, teams had the choice to Drill It or Deliver It. In Drill It, teams had to run to a marked area on Mirror Lake, drill 10 holes in the ice, push an ice fishing shack over their holes, and properly position the shack over at least two of the holes. Once the shack was properly positioned, the ice fisherman handed them their next clue. In Deliver It, teams had to load a nearby bush plane with medical supplies and help guide a pilot take off the ice and fly the supplies back to Girdwood. Once the plane took off, a marshal handed them their next clue.

To complete the Roadblock, one team member had to complete a mushing course within five minutes. Once team members completed the course, they received their next clue and took the dogs to their waiting teammate.

Additional Tasks

  • At the start of the pre-leg, teams had to get out one of 12 cars placed in a large maze by moving the surrounding black cars in either a forward or reverse direction. When teams were able to get their car out of the maze, they had to drive themselves to Mirror Lake.
  • After completing the Roadblock, teams had to use the dog sled to navigate the park and search for the Pit Stop.

Leg 1 (United States Of America → Antigua & Barbuda)

For the first leg, teams visited the city of St. John's in Antigua & Barbuda.

To claim the leg’s Fast Forward, one team had to head to the bleachers and completely consume ten plates of cou-cou. Once teams finished eating all the cou-cou, the plates spelt out the name of the Pit Stop: Fort James.

For the first Roadblock of the Race, one team member had to enter the grounds and participate in a game of cricket. After successfully hitting a ball bowled by a cricketeer past a boundary, that team member had to then hit another ball past their first successful hit to receive their next clue.

For the Detour, teams had a choice between Ships or Shops. In Ships, teams had to run to the dock and sorted out 100 wandering tourists into five groups based on their shirt colors. Once all tourists were sorted, teams had to escort each group into the correct ship to receive their next clue from the tour guides. In Shops, teams had to run to a nearby marked stall selling traditional Antiguan handicrafts, linens and specialty items. Once there, teams had to sell enough merchandise to earn 100 XCD to get their next clue from the shopkeeper.

Additional Tasks

  • At Kincaid Park teams had to ride a bike to Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport. Along the way, teams had to keep an eye out for a road sign displaying their first destination: the Antigua Recreation Ground in St. John's, Antigua & Barbuda.
  • After the Roadblock, teams were instructed to walk to St. John's Cathedral, where they found their next clue.

Leg 2 (Antigua & Barbuda → Argentina)

The Pit Stop for this leg of the Race was at La Mundial, the "world's narrowest building".

To claim the leg’s unused Fast Forward, teams had to recreate a landscape photo of the Pampas by painting it on a canvas and have it approved by a local artist.

In this Roadblock, one team member had to enter the Cathedral Of Córdoba and locate one of the many votive offerings displayed around the walls of the cathedral, using only a provided picture for reference. Once they successfully located the votive offering, they had to take a photo of it and present it to the sacristan, who handed them their next clue.

For this Detour, teams had the choice between Show Jumping and Show Business. In Show Jumping, teams had to head to the stables and prepare a horse for show jumping. After the horse was properly groomed and equipped, one team member had to ride the horse through a series of obstacles to receive their next clue. In Show Business, teams had to head to the veranda and choose a cuarteto band to perform with. After rehearsing with the band, teams had to successfully perform a cuarteto piece to the satisfaction of three gauchos from the estancia.

Additional Tasks

  • At the Museum Of Antigua & Barbuda, teams had to search the exhibits for an artifact that was out of place and present it to the museum’s curator, who handed them their next clue. Teams would then have to carry this artifact until they completed the Detour option which, unbeknownst to them at the time, was determined by the artifact they chose.

Leg 3 (Argentina → Angola)

To complete the Food side of the Detour, teams had to prepare a plate of muamba de galinha.

To claim the leg’s Fast Forward, teams had to visit Luanda’s National Museum Of Slavery and participate in a guided tour.

At the series' first Head-To-Head, teams squared off (two at a time) in a traditional game of Kiela. The winner of each Kiela match moved on, and the loser had to face the next team in the next match. This continued until there were only two teams left, and the team that lost the final Kiela match had to wait out a specified time period before they could move on.

In this Roadblock, one team member had to work as a bike messenger by taking one of eleven packages, each with an instruction written in a different language, navigating Luanda's streets, which followed a unique traffic scheme, and delivering the package to the correct passenger, who was waiting at the Terminal Marítimo De Passageiros. Once they delivered the correct package, they were given their next clue, which they could only open once they returned to their partner.

For the Detour, teams had to head to the Ilha De Luanda and choose between Food or Drink. In Food, teams had to find a marked beach stall and prepare a plate of muamba de galinha to receive their next clue. In Drink, teams had to find a marked water refilling station and help refill and pack 100 bottles of drinking water to receive their next clue.

Additional Tasks

  • At the Arco De Córdoba, teams found a stack of 200 Angolan kwanza bills. Aside from being the money they received for this leg of the race, teams also had to figure out that the reverse side directed them to their next destination: Luanda, Angola.
  • After the Detour, teams found themselves with a puzzle that they had to solve to figure out their next destination, the Benfica Market. For their Hazard, Laurita & Carlotta had to complete a more challenging version of the puzzle, with smaller pieces than those the other teams had to solve.

Leg 4 (Angola)

Teams had to search the grounds near the entrance of the Coutada Do Ambriz Reserve for a wooden sculpture with their next clue carved underneath.

To claim this leg’s Fast Forward, teams had to find a group of locals playing football and score three goals against them.

In this Roadblock, one team member had to pay attention to an ongoing Bakamas Do Tchizo ritual and then answer a series of questions about the ritual. Once team members were able to successfully answer all the questions, they received their next clue.

For this Detour, teams had to choose between One Oil Tanker or Hook, Line & Sinker. In One Oil Tanker, teams had to head to a parked oil tanker near the Sonangol Gas Station and find a cart filled with empty propane tanks. Once there, they had to fill five tanks and deliver them to a specified address to receive their next clue. In Hook, Line & Sinker, teams had to head to the Praia Da Missão and choose one of the marked fishing boats. Once there, teams had to head out into the open water and catch five fish like the locals, to receive their next clue.

Additional Tasks

  • At the start of the leg, teams chose one of ten armored vehicles to use for the remainder of the leg.
  • At the Coutada Do Ambriz Reserve, teams had to search the area near the entrance of the reserve to find a wooden sculpture with their next clue carved underneath. Teams then had to take the wooden sculpture to the M'Buco-M'Buadi Cemetery in Cabinda to get their next clue.

Leg 5 (Angola → Nigeria)

Teams visited Zuma Rock on this leg of the Race.

The Fast Forward for the leg was hidden inside the one green-and-white clue box (among twenty scattered around Zuma Rock) whose colors matched exactly those of the Nigerian flag.

For the Detour, teams had the choice to either head to Jabi Lake (a man-made lake in the middle of Abuja) and complete a rowing course to Jabi Lake Mall (Across The Waters) or head to the Wuse Market and negotiate for bargains on three items (a wood carving, a painting and a piece of leatherwork) with a provided budget (Through The Crowds).

In this Roadblock, one team member had to gather tools and supplies from a nearby supply truck and assemble a traditional “Bush Bar”, following the example shown in a provided photo. Once the Bush Bar was set up exactly like the one shown in the photo, the truck owner handed them their next clue.

Additional Tasks

  • Upon arrival in Abuja, teams received a 100 Nigerian naira bill. They had to figure out that printed on the reverse side was their next destination, Zuma Rock.
  • Upon arrival at Aso Rock, teams had to engage in a game of boju-boju (hide-and-seek). Teams had to successfully avoid detection from the seeker, before they could run to the Pit Stop.

Leg 6 (Nigeria → Ghana)

The Fast Forward for the leg required teams to request for a red-and-yellow kente cloth (similar to the kente cloth pictured above).

To win the Fast Forward, teams had to head to the Makola Market and find a marked stall selling traditional kente cloth. After watching a short demonstration on how kente cloth is weaved, teams had to request for a red-and-yellow kente cloth together with the Fast Forward award.

For this Detour, teams had a choice between House Of The Living or House Of The Dead. In House Of The Living, teams had to head to the Greda Estates and help repair an enclosure surrounding a traditional Ghanaian communal compound. Once the enclosure was fixed to the satisfaction of the local foreman, they received their next clue. In House Of The Dead, teams had to head to the Kane Kwei Carpentry Workshop and choose a fantasy coffin on display. Once there, teams had to bring the coffin to St. Anne’s Catholic Church for the coffin to be blessed. After the blessing, teams received their next clue.

In this Roadblock, one team member had to choose a marked section of Labadi Beach and dig through the sand to find a plaque of the Black Star of Africa. Once a team member found the plaque, they had to place it on a sliding puzzle and unlock it to get their next clue.

Additional Tasks

  • At the start of the leg, teams voted for who they want to U-Turn.
  • At the Bukom Boxing Arena, teams had to rehearse a set of boxing drills and then successfully complete it in front of a group of trainers to receive their next clue.
  • After completing the Detour, teams were instructed to take a bus to Labadi Beach.

Leg 7 (Ghana → Spain → Andorra)

At the Poliesportiu D'Andorra, Intersected teams had to score two points in a game of roller hockey by getting a ball (pictured) into a goal twice.

Upon arrival at the Poliesportiu D'Andorra, teams faced an Intersection. At the Intersection, teams had to join with one other team to complete tasks and make decisions together until further notice.

To claim the unused Fast Forward for this leg, the newly-Intersected teams had to locate the Antiga Vegueria Francesa, which displayed the Fast Forward award at its front door, using only an enclosed picture for reference.

For the Detour, teams faced a choice between Luggage or Literature. In Luggage, teams had to make their way to the Hotel Pyrénées and grab a sheet containing pictures of 20 guests. Once there, they had to search the surrounding streets of the Old Town and bring these guests’ luggages back to the Hotel Pyrénées to receive their next clue. In Literature, teams had to make their way to the Biblioteca Nacional D'Andorra and grab a sheet containing plot summaries for famous literary works, written in Catalan. Once there, teams had to search for the six books corresponding to the plot summaries and present it to the librarian to receive their next clue. After the Detour, teams were no longer Intersected.

In this Roadblock, one team member had to join the Castellers d'Andorra and help organize a six-layer castell, with themselves as the topmost layer, to grab an Andorran flag hanging on a pole above them. Once team members were able to grab the flag, they could descend the castell and receive their next clue. For their Hazard, Christina & Terri were required to organize a castell with one more level than that of the other teams.

Additional Tasks

  • At the Palau De La Música Catalana, teams had to listen to the Orfeó Català sing a sentence in Catalan. Teams had to figure out that this sentence was telling them to drive to the Poliesportiu D'Andorra in Andorra La Vella to find their next clue.
  • At the Poliesportiu D'Andorra, the newly-Intersected teams had to score two goals against a team of amateur Andorran roller hockey players to receive their next clue.

Leg 8 (Andorra → France → Greece)

The Roadblock required teams to become a tour guide and lead a walking tour through three of Athens's ancient sites, one of which was Hadrian's Library.

To win the Fast Forward, teams had to walk to the Tomb Of The Unknown Soldier and watch a Changing Of The Guard routine by the Evzones, the Greek Presidential Guards. At the end of the routine, one of the Evzones handed them the Fast Forward award.

For the Roadblock, one team member had to become a tour guide and lead a group of 20 tourists through a walking tour of three of Athens’s ancient sites. Once all three sites were visited, the tourists rated them back at Syntagma Square on how well they conducted the tour. Once teams received a passing score, they received their next clue.

After the Roadblock, teams then encountered a Detour between Coins or Plates. In Coins, teams had to head on foot to the Monastiraki Flea Market and search the market stalls for four with ancient Greek coins on display. Once teams found these four stalls, teams had to each bring back an Archaic, Classical, Hellenistic and Roman coin to the entrance of the flea market to receive their next clue. In Plates, teams had to head on foot to the Avli Restaurant in the neighborhood of Psiri and find a table featuring numerous plates with Greek specialties. After teams donned serving attire, they had to successfully deliver five courses to a room full of waiting patrons to receive their next clue.

Additional Tasks

  • At the Stadium De Toulouse, teams found a cryptic picture clue. Teams had to figure out that this pointed them to their next destination: the Panathenaic Stadium in Athens, Greece.
  • At sunrise, teams had to complete a combined total of four laps around the track oval of the Panathenaic Stadium to receive their next clue.
  • After the Detour, teams had to walk to the Pit Stop at the Parthenon.

Leg 9 (Greece → Russia)

At Trud Stadium, teams had to get past bandy players to get to the Yield and their next clue in the middle of the rink.

To claim the Fast Forward for this leg, teams had to head to the site where the Sutyagin House once stood and search the grounds for the Fast Forward award.

In this Detour, teams had to choose between Carpenters or Confectioners. In Carpenters, teams had to head to Prospekt Chumbarova-Luchinskogo and search for a row of three marked houses in need of repair. Grabbing a kit of tools and a wood stack, teams had to help repair the wooden houses to the satisfaction of the home owners, before receiving their next clue. In Confectioners, teams had to head to Mall EvroPark and find a marked stall selling traditional kozuli cookies. Once there, teams had to help sell 50 boxes of cookies to the mallgoers, after which the shopkeeper handed them their next clue.

For the Roadblock, one team member had to enter the Philharmonia and summarize the plot of a traditional Russian bylina, after which they had to successfully convey its message in a 5-minute one-man play. Once the playwright approved of their performance, they received their next clue.

Additional Tasks

  • At the start of the leg, teams received a 500 Russian ruble note. Aside from being the money they received for this leg of the race, teams also had to figure out that the obverse side directed them to their next destination: Arkhangelsk, Russia. Teams also voted for who they want to Yield.
  • At the Trud Stadium, teams had to don ice skates and dodge incoming bandy players in the middle of a game to get to their next clue (as well as the Yield) at the center of the rink.

Leg 10 (Russia → Afghanistan)

For this leg, teams had the option to search through Afghan carpets at Kabul City Center for one with a yellow-and-red patch sewn on it.

For the Roadblock, one team member had to take over the reins of their armored vehicle, study its controls and drive the vehicle to Zarnegar Park, where their next clue was located.

For the Detour, teams had to choose between Cages or Carpets. In Cages, teams had to head to the Kabul Bird Market, buy a list of pet bird care items for a group of prospective pet bird owners and bring them back to these owners before receiving their next clue. In Carpets, teams had to head to the Kabul City Center and search through hundreds of Afghan carpets on display at a marked carpet shop for one of eight with a yellow-and-red patch sewn on it. Once they found a correct carpet, they had to buy the carpet to get their next clue.

Additional Tasks

  • At the start of the leg, teams had to walk to the Sovoletsky Stone (in honour of gulag victims) and pay their respects to the victims of the Soviet-era gulags that were located in the nearby Solovetsky Islands.
  • Upon arrival in Kabul, teams chose one of six armored vehicles to use for the remainder of the leg.
  • At Bala Hissar, teams had to assist in the buzkashi game by preparing a goat carcass for the next match. Once teams successfully prepared a goat carcass to the satisfaction of the players, they received their next clue. For their Hazard, Jessika & Jenny B had to prepare a second goat carcass.
  • After the Roadblock, teams had to walk to the Abdul Rahman Mosque to get their next clue. Teams then returned to their armored vehicle to head to either the Kabul Bird Market or Kabul City Center for the Detour.

Leg 11 (Afghanistan → Australia)

At the Melbourne Cricket Ground, teams had to run through the middle of an Australian-rules football game to get to their next clue, and to the Blind Double U-Turn board.

The unused Fast Forward for this leg was located beside the Wurundjeri scarred tree at the Fitzroy Gardens.

For the Detour, teams had to choose between Plant It or Perform It. In Plant It, teams had to head to the National Herbarium Of Victoria, grab a plant guide and successfully identify ten species of endemic Australian flora to receive their next clue. In Perform It, teams had to head to the Sidney Myer Music Bowl, choose a live band, rehearse a song by the band, and successfully perform the song to the satisfaction of the lead singer before they received their next clue.

For this Roadblock, one team member had to board an incoming tram at the Flinders Street Station and navigate the city's tram network, the largest in the world. Along the routes, there were four yellow-and-red signs with words on them, which spelled out the name of the Pit Stop (Fairfield Industrial Dog Object).

Additional Tasks

  • Upon landing in Melbourne, teams had to get their next clue from the highest floor of the Eureka Tower.
  • After the Detour, teams were told to find “The G”. Teams had to figure out that the clue referred to the Melbourne Cricket Ground. Once here, they had to get to their next clue (as well as the U-Turn) by running through Australian-rules football players in the middle of an ongoing game.
  • At Hosier Lane, teams had to search the street art lining the lane for an artwork pointing them to their next destination, the Melbourne Art Trams at the Flinders Street Station.

Leg 12 (Australia → Samoa)

Once teams arrived in Apia, they had to make their way to the Apia Town Clock Tower, where they found the Yield mat and their next clue.

For the Detour, teams had the choice of With The Locals or Against The Locals. In With The Locals, teams had to head to the hotel courtyard and put on traditional fia fia celebratory attire and motion sensors, after which teams had to join the party and dance non-stop for fifteen minutes before receiving their next clue. In Against The Locals, teams had to head to the hotel ballroom and play a game of taulafoga against a group of locals. Following the traditional rules of the game (where players used coconut shells to reach the end of a mat), teams had to play as many games as possible to earn fifteen points and receive their next clue.

For the Roadblock, one team member had to pick out nine artifacts, pertaining to Robert Louis Stevenson, scattered around the Museum Of Samoa that were also present in Villa Vailima. Team members could bike back to Villa Vailima for as many times as they needed to get the answer correctly. Once they picked out all nine correct artifacts, they received their next clue.

Additional Tasks

  • At the start of the leg, teams were directed to Cooks’ Cottage, where a map of Captain Cook’s first voyage Was laid out. Teams had to identify which of the mapped locations were not visited on the actual voyage, which pointed them to their next destination (Apia, Samoa). Teams were also given a keychain of the Flinders Street Station clock tower as a souvenir, which left teams to figure out that they had to drive to the Apia Town Clock Tower to get their first clue in Apia.
  • At Villa Vailima, teams rested for the night. The following morning, they were taken on a tour of the house, the last residence of Robert Louis Stevenson before he died, before receiving their next clue.

Leg 13 (Samoa → United States Of America)

Unalaska, Alaska served as the Final Destination City for IANU AR 15.

For the final Roadblock, one team member had to enter the Church Of The Holy Ascension and arrange a series of placards showing sections of the Divine Liturgy in chronological order, using only a series of videos of a traditional Eastern Orthodox Divine Liturgy as reference. Once the placards were correctly arranged, they received their next clue.

For the final Detour, teams had the choice of Extant or Extinct. In Extant, teams had to head to Sitka Spruce Park and count the number of spruce trees in a marked area within the oldest recorded afforestation project in North America. Once teams gave the correct number, they received their next clue. In Extinct, teams had to head to the Museum Of The Aleutians and find a table with five unmarked fossils. Using only the exhibits on display, teams had to successfully name all five fossils before receiving their next clue.

Additional Tasks

  • At Robert Louis Stevenson's grave, teams found two flags, one of the United Nations and one of the state of Alaska. Teams had to figure out that this pointed them to their Final Destination City: Unalaska, Alaska.
  • After the Detour, teams received a picture clue pointing to their next destination, the Port Of Dutch Harbor.
  • At the Port Of Dutch Harbor, teams encountered 20 Alaskan crab fishing boats, with five crab traps attached to the sides of each boat. Inside each crab trap was a picture of a game or sport, and teams had to choose the thirteen images which showed thirteen games or sports that the teams encountered throughout the Race, with one game or sport representing each leg (see below). Teams had to place the images in chronological order back on the harbor before receiving their next clue.
  • At the Aleutian World War II National Historic Area, teams had to run up the trail to the Finish Line at Fort Schwatka.
